What is Speech & Debate?
The Fishers Speech & Debate team competes in public speaking tournaments throughout the state and on the national circuit. Students can compete in theatrical performances, broadcasting, platform speaking, and multiple types of debate.
How many students participate?
This year’s team has approximately 65 members, but we’re always looking for new talent!
Does Fishers have a good team?
Yes, FHS has historically been one of the best schools in the state of Indiana for Speech & Debate, winning multiple state championships over the years.
How can I join the Speech & Debate team?
Just have an interest and contact us, that’s it. Once the season begins the rosters get set due to competition rules and district and state qualifying metrics. However, we always encourage any student looking to find their voice through speech & debate to join the team at any time.
